If you see the big dog headed your way, Hide the food!

Well, lets first start by having you take a seat. You are most likely all ready seated. But the jumping up out of the seat when you read this is an exhilarating experience.
I am the type that when I hear good news, I process it like the bad, and while it does get reaction inside, it does not show much to the outside- unless it is extreme, or unexpected. There have been only a few times that upon hearing some news, I could not contain a huge smile. Today is such a day.

1. He is done with Chemo. Now in a 2 week break, and then will have Radiation plus Chemo. 6 weeks more.
   
2. The size of the tumor, is now more described as a canker sore like size at the back of his throat. it is a shadow of its former self. (recall we started with a tumor so large he could not eat, and in the end could not really breathe that well)
   
3. Speaking of the throat, the Trach that did its job for these 6 or more weeks, and was to have been with us until after the radiation, was removed today. His constant coughing, irritation, and general pain in the ... neck - that he was blessed to have helping him breathe, is in a trash can at a doctors office in Irving. They had said it would be there until after the radiation. My take on this is that he is doing so well, they did not expect it.
   
4. The heart is still in rhythm, and he has checked in with his regular heart doctor. He is not rocking the boat by changing too much. Thinning blood is a tricky business. Thin enough is a hair from too thin, but they seem to have it in balance.
   

BTW, the diet it totally off the rails at this point. He is eating like he is at a frat house eating contest. Had some Fillet Mignon the other night, on top of Fettuccine, and Peanut Butter cups, and on top of Ice Cream. (Please note that after the above feast, his blood sugar was nearly 400, but he blamed that on the steroids. Yeah. Uh-huh)

Pray- Because clearly here is an example where it has been so key to the results- We can all have the faith that will move mountains, but every so often we are blessed when we see, a mountain, moved, in nearly real time. And that is amazing. So more work for you please: Pray for-

Rest and recuperation from the 6 weeks during his 2 week downtime.

That radiation will also be easier than anyone is telling us it will be.

That he can sleep, and sleep well each night.
